Hey Alan,
Great post. Let's all rejoice in the knowledge we have learned, and the latest "Two Minutes Hate" Jehovah has given us through his faithful and discrete slave.
from the july 1, 2003 watchtower article "righteous requirements":.
.. the kingdom of god is the highest government anyone can serve.
how does jehovah issue the call to his people?

well the elders do not accept me.
i do not fit the mold and nor will i change too.
they asked for a book for me to see the questions answered for baptisim but they wouldn't give it to me because they have to decide if i can join???
Hi Tattogirl,
Good to read your posts again, I was wondering how things were going for you.
Since I'm just a normal looking dude, I never had to go through your "book cover" experience, but I noticed while I was studying (which is as far as I got) that conformity seems to be pretty normal. I have no experience with other churches, so I don't know how they pressure others to conform to their standards.
I'm glad you didn't get sucked in. You kept your head up and it seems to me you have a good understanding of who you are and where you wanna go. Congrats!

issues but we hope to be back to full speed next year.. we have completed work on a major article to be published in an american.
medical journal later this year.. i am nearly done with another article on the blood issue for a different.
I have read that in the Province of Quebec a law is in place that allows the doctor to decide if a minor will accept a blood transfusion or not, removing that power from uneducated parents and kids who may be brainwashed by a publishing company. (Please inform me if I am wrong).
In principle, I have reservations about any law that removes the right of someone to decide what goes into their body. On the other hand, knowing what I know about the WTS blood policy I humbly submit that the ends of the law justify the means.
I'm interested in the implications of laws such as these.

These people need a wake up call.
I took note of this poster:
Like most of us I don't know details. My question is though, where are they going? The world is darkness and only JWs are in the light.EVEN IF mistakes are made last week's WT mentioned "elders make mistakes that at times may affect us personally. Nevertheless, Jehovah is using such men as shepherds of his flock". I have personally experienced this with elders. Years later, one apologized to me.
This organization has the truth. These people are looking at men, seeing things from a human standpoint. Not that I am making light of such serious charges. I am a mother and the hurt and pain of this done to your child and done to you is enormous. YET there is no pain, nothing that happens to us that Jehovah cannot help us cope with, deal with and endure, going on until the permanent solutions. Until "the former things are not brought to mind". Besides that, Jesus is aware of everything done in the congregation and keeps the congregation clean and has personal concern how the body shepherds his sheep. They answer to him and he deals appropiately with them.
Lawsuits and money, while bringing a "feeling" of justice will not give you the inner peace, comfort, care and coping skills you need to deal with all the fallout of anger, disillusionment, etc. from these
horrible acts. Now is the time especially for staying close to Jehovah and his organization. This is not to say that laws of the land that dictate prosecution of people committing such act should not be enforced. I am all for it.
I'm getting the same old mixed message here... God leads the organization and uses elders to shepherd, but when something BAD happens, our "human standpoint" can't understand why sometihng like this happened in God's organization.
SO WHICH IS IT?
Just my thoughts.

when helping my children out of the jws, we discussed the watch tower claim that their religion is the only true religion, and all other religions are false religions.
during one such discussion, my oldest son asked how i deal with this claim.
i responded by saying, "the san francisco 49rs are the only true football team, and all other football teams are false football teams.. he, being a washington redskins fan, suddenly got my point.
Hi Amazing,
Things are going poorly with my girlfriend....but you'd be interested to hear one of the things she said about her "religion":
"It's not a religion, it's the TRUTH!"
Like I said, I'm in deep.

average printing each issue of the watchtower is up.. the current issue reports a figure of 23,042,000. this is up from the previous fig of 22,398,000.. just wondering: are magazine placements as reported by the pubs/pios correspondingly up?.
does anyone have any details on mag placements?.
like i said, just wonderingg.....actually, i'm intrigued as the impression i have from "on the ground" is that placements are down.. for example, australia reports an av placement per publisher of around 5.0 which is down on previous years.. any news from other places?.
nytel,
You are a frigging hoot!! I like your style. I think you got it all figured out: You seem to know that the WTS is bogus but you stay in good standing as the Mag servant so that you can have all the pretty ladies come to you for their magazines.

if you are an employer, never hire a jehovah's witness.
the reason for this is simple: that mistake may cost you a lot of money!
you can bot expect a jehovah's witness to do what they are told to do, but you can expect them to do the oposite!
Hi guys,
Chi-Chi's and similar bar and grill restaurants where the employees sing happy birthday usually have ALL the wait staff do so. And I'm sure that if one person begged off because of "religious reasons", legitimate or not, many others would try to make a similar excuse. I've never been a waiter, but I know that having to sing happy birthday to drunk jerks is not the kind of job duty I would enjoy. IMHO if the owner lets one person off easy, the others will make excuses or gripe incessantly. Sooner or later no one will sing the damn song if asked to.
If she can't do the job she was hired for, I have to side with the boss based on the knowledge I have of the case.
